Tailored Care Environment: Our Floor Structure

To meet the diverse therapeutic needs of our patients, accommodations at Dorchester House are organized into distinct wings across our three floors. Each floor provides a specific level of support, security, and environmental control, carefully aligned with the varying stages of treatment and individual patient requirements.

  • First Floor

    Integrative Environment

Designed as a supportive and more open environment, the first floor generally accommodates patients who have achieved considerable stability and are working towards greater independence within their care plan. Patients on this floor typically have access to the administration wing and its resources during normal hours, unless specific individual treatment considerations require otherwise.

  • Second Floor

    Progressive Support

Our second floor offers a medium-security setting, providing a balanced therapeutic environment for patients making significant strides in their treatment. While maintaining all essential safety protocols, this wing allows for increased privileges compared to the third floor, commensurate with individual progress and stability.

  • Third Floor

    Enhanced Care & Observation

This wing is structured for patients requiring our highest level of specialized care and continuous observation. Comprehensive safety measures are in place, including video surveillance in common areas and security mirrors. In line with facility policy for this environment, patient room doors remain open during daytime hours to facilitate close staff observation. To maintain a therapeutic focus and ensure safety, patient possessions are carefully regulated; rooms are furnished with essential, approved items, which include bed restraints should they be clinically indicated for patient or staff safety. Access to the central administration wing is typically restricted from this floor during normal operational hours to maintain its specialized therapeutic milieu.

  • Our tiered system of care environments ensures that each patient resides in a setting best suited to their current needs, promoting safety, appropriate levels of supervision, and active engagement in their personalized treatment plan. If you have any questions about our approach, please don't hesitate to reach out.
